INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
- Put the pump on a flat surface or hang it at the end of the bed using the hook.
- Place the pad on the bed’s mattress, making sure it’s at the foot end.
- Connect the air hoses to the pump and the pad. The hoses with connectors should be attached to the pad.
- Make sure the air hoses aren’t twisted or tucked under the mattress.
- Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet, and turn on the pump. You’ll see a green light when it’s working.
- Adjust the pressure using the control. For the type with adjustable pressure, it’s best when you can fit two fingers between the patient’s buttocks and the deflated pad chamber.
CLEANING AND STORAGE:
The unit may be cleaned by occasionally dusting or wiping with a surface germicidal disinfectant solution. Do not immerse. Do not heat or steam clean.
Before You Put The Unit Away For Storage:
- Look at the power cord and plug. Make sure they’re not damaged or worn out.
- Plug in the unit and check if air is coming out from the hose connection. It should switch between the two ports every 2 ½ minutes.
- Examine the air hoses for any bends or cracks. If you find any, get new ones.
- If the unit works fine, wind up the hoses gently and keep them with the unit in plastic wrapping to shield them from moisture and dust.
CAUTION:
- Don’t use this near thing like cigarettes or fire.
- The air coming from this pad can make the fire burn.
Here’s how to clean the pump and pad:
For the Pump:
- Wash your hands and put on gloves.
- Put the pump and hose on a clean table or counter.
- Spray them with Madacide or another disinfectant (don’t use phenol-based ones).
- Wipe them down with a paper towel.
- Let the pump and hose air dry for about 15 minutes.
For the Mattress:
- Wash your hands and wear gloves.
- Put the mattress and hose on a clean table or counter.
- Spray them with Madacide or another disinfectant (not phenol-based).
- Wipe down the top of the mattress with a paper towel and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
- Flip the mattress over and do the same cleaning process.
- Hang the mattress to air dry in a well-ventilated area for 12-24 hours.
- Once the mattress and pump are properly disinfected, put them in plastic bags and label them as “cleaned.”
