How to Use Bunnell Safety Pin Finger Splint?
Instructions:
- Open strap
- Place finger into splint with curved finger band on bottom and in front of D.I.P. joint
- Align coiled spring with D.I.P. joint
- Position pad on strap (hook and loop compatible), pass strap over top of finger, under lateral wire, and back on top of finger
- Secure to loop
- Adjust as needed
- Evaluate fit, function and instruct patient on use
- Lateral wires and finger bands can be carefully reshaped to improve fit and function
- Remove from patient to modify
- Clean with mild soap and damp towel
- Air dry completely before reapplying
