How to use Dale NasoGastric Tube Holder?
- After the NG tube is in place, make certain that the nose and the NG tube are both clean and dry. We recommend cleaning it per hospital protocol.
- Peel back NG tube holder from liner starting at the top of the nose pad.
- Position and apply nosepad to the nose at a slight angle toward the nare that the NG tube has been inserted into.
- Choose the tab closest to the tube and begin to wrap it in a spiraling fashion so most of the NG tube is centered on the selected nare.
- Wrap the remaining tab using the same spiral technique.
- Change the ng tube securement tape after 3 days, or sooner if necessary.
- To remove the NG tube holder from the patient
- Simply pull back on the non-adherent tips on the end of each tab to unwrap them from the tube.
- Continue to gently pull the tube holder in an upward fashion to remove from the patient’s nose.
