How does this Ag Dressing work?
- Mepilex Ag is a wound care dressing that constitutes an absorbent polyurethane foam pad embedded with a silver sulfate compound.
- Silver particles in the dressing are inactive in dry conditions.
- When the silver dressing comes in contact with the moisture, the silver particles release silver ions, which disperse throughout the dressing and into the wound environment.

How to use Mepilex Ag Foam Dressing?
- For effective results, select a size that will allow Mepilex Ag Antimicrobial Foam Dressing to extend wound margins by at least 2 cm. Cleanse the wound with normal water or saline according to standard clinical protocol. Thoroughly dry the surrounding skin.
- Remove the release film and apply with the adherent side to the wound. Remember not to stretch. For application on the lower limb, position the dressing slightly off-center so that more of it rests below the wound than above.
- Use Mepitac or other fixation devices to secure the dressing in place
